About Polyglot Queensland
Discover our mission to foster multilingual development in Brisbane's youngest learners
Our Mission
At Polyglot Queensland, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to explore the world through multiple languages. Our mission is to provide high-quality, play-based multilingual learning experiences that nurture cognitive development, cultural awareness, and global citizenship from the earliest years.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families in Brisbane who want to maintain their heritage languages while integrating into the Australian community. Through our specialized playgroups, we create a bridge between cultures, fostering understanding and appreciation for linguistic diversity.
Our Story
Founded in 2018 by a group of passionate multicultural families in Brisbane, Polyglot Queensland emerged from a simple need: to provide children with meaningful opportunities to learn and maintain their family's heritage languages.
What started as informal gatherings in local parks has grown into a structured program that serves dozens of families across Brisbane. Our founders, representing Spanish and Russian-speaking communities, recognized that language learning is most effective when it's fun, social, and culturally authentic.
Today, we continue to expand our reach while maintaining our core values of inclusivity, cultural celebration, and child-centered learning.
Our Values
Inclusivity
We welcome families from all backgrounds and celebrate the diversity that makes Brisbane such a vibrant multicultural city.
Quality
Our programs are led by qualified, native-speaking facilitators who understand both language acquisition and early childhood development.
Community
We foster strong connections between families, creating lasting friendships and support networks within our multicultural community.
Growth
We are committed to continuous improvement and expanding our programs to serve more families and languages in the future.
Our Approach
Play-Based Learning
We believe that children learn best through play. Our sessions incorporate songs, games, storytelling, and hands-on activities that make language learning natural and enjoyable.
Cultural Integration
Language and culture are inseparable. Our programs celebrate the rich traditions, festivals, and customs of Spanish and Russian cultures, helping children develop a deep appreciation for their heritage.
Family-Centered
Parents and caregivers are integral to our programs. We provide resources and support to help families continue language learning at home, strengthening family bonds and cultural connections.
Family Learning Together
